Large-diameter logs

A Wood-Mizer LT70 Remote and an LT30 headrig open up the bigger logs into slabs, which pass through a Wood-Mizer EG800 multirip. The sawn material is then kiln dried, much of it for door manufacturing.

Thinnings

A Wood-Mizer Twin Vertical Saw takes two sides off each thinnings log, and the cant then passes through a Pinnacle multirip.

Two Wood-Mizer single-head resaws recover extra boards from slabs and sideboards. This material goes to furniture manufacturers, pallets and fencing, or is sold wet-off-saw.

Efficient by design

Cants are ripped into sawn material with minimal labour, and recovery is kept simple. The result is a highly productive mill with low manual inputs and basic, inexpensive material handling – good timber from a renewable, well-managed resource.
