Our story
From one bandsaw to a full mill
Orange Farm Sawmill started in 2001, when Ben Seele returned from studying wood science and working in forestry in Norway and the UK. With help from his father, Carl, he bought a single Wood-Mizer LT30 to cut logs from the family plantations.
The mill has grown steadily since, and today runs two processing lines at Baynesfield in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

Our log supply
Grown next door
Our pine and eucalyptus logs come from plantations in the hills above the mill, grown by our sister company Trewirgie Timber. Those plantations are managed with careful attention to soil, water and natural ecosystems.
Having a reliable local log supply means consistent quality and short transport distances.
